- Infection control and radiology information system integration
As part of our project management of the BizTalk implementation, EpiSoft personnel will be working with project managers involved in implementing a marketing leading
RIS and infection control system and will be managing the integration components of these projects.
- Online Operating Theatres
EpiSoft personnel are project managing the implementation of paperless operating theatres in a leading private hospital.
This project is in the requirements gathering phase.
- Bed management and patient flow
EpiSoft personnel are co-ordinating the further development of hospital bed allocation and patient flow systems as part of a program of continuous improvement
in information flow about bed availability and patient movements between bed bookings, emergency department, wards and hospital transport.
These IT improvements have included implementation of an automated hospital and ambulance transport booking system with centralised booking of routine
ambulances via the NSW Ambulance electronic booking system, enhancements to the bed management system and enhancements to discharge data collection processes.
This work is ongoing.
- Improvements in clinical documentation and clinical coding
EpiSoft participates in a cross-functional team project to improve the quality of clinical documentation to support clinical coding by the Medical Records department.
Electronic health record components are starting to be used to flag records for internal review. EpiSoft personnel are co-ordinating the information systems support for the project which has
included automated flagging of records based on a range of administrative criteria for internal review by the Medical Records department and allocation of records to a task
list for review based on clinical triggers.
- Improvements in duplicate medical record creation and patient mis-identification
EpiSoft participates in a cross-functional team project to improve the patient identification processes clinical documentation to support clinical coding by the Medical Records department.
